Up to now explorations
The explorations at settlement Taor started hundred years ago by English researcher, archeologist and traveler Arthur Evans. During his stay in Skopje region, visits lot of antique localities. In Skupi, he visit locality Gradishte at village Taor, noticing the first information for the remains and its site. Recently were done surface exploration of the settlement by T. Tomovski and I. Mikulchich. Through these surface explorations they made short projection for the base data of the settlement. Beside these, other explorations are not done. These basic explorations provide us with data for the topography of the settlement.
Excavations
Museum of the city of Skopje in 2000 made first test pit of the settlement. Next year 2001 the settlement systematically is explored. In 2000 year were made two basic test pits with dimensions 5x5 m and three control test pit with different dimensions. Dimensions of control test pit were adjusted to configuration of the terrain. The purpose of explorations was to identify character, size and stratigraphy of the settlement. In 2001, explorations were located on north east side of the settlement, where test pit explorations were most successful. This place represents gentle slope and has different level of cultural layer. On the locality was set square net as base for beginning of the systematic excavations.
Beside, the central zone, explorations were perform for identifying of defense wall and establishment of the condition of cultural layers and other parts from the settlement.
